Pedestrian-accident-warning-signPatient was struck by a vehicle and sustained multiple traumatic injuries. Patient was unconscious yet breathing when she was brought to the Emergency Room (ER) in critical condition at 0250. Patient was initially diagnosed with a closed head injury and primarily treated by Dr. One in the ER. A full trauma assessment was performed and Patient had a *Glasgow coma score (GCS) of 11-12 when she was initially brought into the ER. Patient’s GCS decreased to a 9 while in the ER which required immediate medical intervention. The priority diagnoses for Patient were *acute respiratory failure and traumatic shock. The acute respiratory failure necessitated immediate *Intubation with mechanical ventilation to support life-sustaining respiratory function. Download Medical Chronology
